What is Netiquette?According to Auburn University's Digital Citizenship website, netiquette is "internet etiquette," and it refers to the way that people present themselves online in written conversation on the internet. It includes things like sending someone too many emails, presenting one's self in a positive and professional way, and even using emoticons ("Digital Citizenship"). In order to be taken seriously, people in today's society must present themselves in a professional manner online because employers are now looking at social media and personal websites and blogs before hiring. A person's profile online should reflect positively on the person because it could essentially become his or her résumé.
